Airfields
The OBSERMET meteorological equipment are known as reliable high accuracy measurement devices and therefore often used at locations where local weather circumstances are most crucial. It might seems obvious that the OBSERMET products are often used on airfields. Depending of the airport CAT, Observator instruments may offer either wind sets consisting of a sensor, telemetry and displays or complete met systems in which also visibility and cloudbase sensors are integrated.

Industry
Several industries are mandatory to measure and store local Met parameters. Others decide having these for save operations. In both cases Observator instruments is able to supply a suitable solution based on high quality sensors which could be connected to a LAN. Dedicated displays also connected to this LAN or PC displays might be used for indication storage and retrieval of local Met circumstances.   

 Met Systems for Harbours and VTMS’s and container terminals
Since Observator is both active within the Meteorological and Hydrological sector, we feel very comfortable within this particular market. We can supply or integrate Met sensors as well as sensors for the measurement of tidal, current, waves and water quality. Further several major container terminals around the world are standardized on the Osermet wind/meteo equipment. Local measurement (on careful selected locations) with telemetry to the cranes or measurement on each crane, the equipment is used to decide when labor should be stopped in case of high wind speeds. 

Met Warning Systems
Local Met circumstances can influence safe operations for various attraction parks, safety bodies etc. Observator supplied e.g. measurement system to the famous Dutch park ‘De Efteling’ and a comprehensive system for the Lodon eye. Also safety bodies depend on local Met circumstances e.g. to know how the control a fire or making a evacuation plan. Either with local read out or using a telemetry system, Observator can design a customized system based on local circumstances and customer requirements.    

Offshore
With more than 75 year experience in Marine environments, the Obsermet product line is extreme suitable for Offshore applications. Most of the exposed sensors are executed in st.st. or high quality plastics and are also available in intrinsically safe versions with ATEX certificates.
Besides sensors Observator is able to supply dedicated displays and software systems. Using ObserView there is the possibility to monitor several platforms and/or FPSO’s on one system using internet or LAN connections. Some of the end-users are Shell; Total; Petrobras; Statoil etc. 

Research Met Systems
Observator offers a wide range of data loggers and several meteorological and hydrological sensors. The Obsermet equipment is often used for research purposes. Various projects were delivered to Met Offices up to Forestry research bodies and energy companies. Using our software systems the measured information can be offered in each kind of graph or report. Obviously the information can be converted to excel, cs files or can e transmitted to any data base, the customer is used to.
 

Traffic Met Systems
Observator instruments supplied various wind systems to control ventilation installations within tunnels. Either within the tunnel it selves and/or in the tunnel wind speed or air flow is measured. Within tunnels the ultrasonic principle is used since these are more accurate within the lower range. Further Observator integrates road condition sensors or road temperature sensors and visibility or present weather sensors for safety matters.

Ships Weather/Wind Systems
With over 80 year experience in the Marine Industry, it is obviously the Obsermet product line is one of the most used brands in this particular market. The exposed sensors are in high quality stainless steel or high quality plastics. The product line further features displays which are specially designed for this market. Water Management Systems
The Obsermet equipment is frequently used within water management system. Either as stand alone water level logger up to complete networks along rivers or for the water management within a certain area. From local Dutch water boards up to flood warning stations within China. Besides data loggers and GPRS loggers Observator offers a flexible low power PLC which are commonly used for automation of controlled weirs and pumping station.
 

Water Quality Systems
As water quantity systems and networks was one of Observator’s core activities, water quality was a logically a step forward within our product range. Observator instruments were asked to represent the company YSI for the Netherlands and modified her data loggers to coop with there Multiparameter probes. Battery operated stations with GPRS communication can be used as mobile systems. Further the YSI and Obsermet equipment is used to monitor the effect on the water quantity after e.g. heavy rainfall or after water quality management activities.
